# Guangchangwu > Guangchangwu (广场舞) is Chinese group dancing that connects movement, music, exercise, public space and community. This site is the English-language knowledge layer for Chinese plaza dancing. Guangchangwu is practiced daily in parks, plazas and residential open spaces across China. It is music-led group fitness, not the partner-based American folk dance called square dance, and it is not Tai Chi. ## Core pages - [Home](https://www.guangchangwu.app/): Entry point to the knowledge layer. - [What is Guangchangwu?](https://www.guangchangwu.app/discover/what-is-guangchangwu/): Canonical definition of the practice. - [Guangchangwu vs square dance](https://www.guangchangwu.app/discover/guangchangwu-vs-square-dance/): Disambiguation from American square dance. - [Discover](https://www.guangchangwu.app/discover/): Origins, meaning and positioning. - [Dances](https://www.guangchangwu.app/dances/): Dance styles, routines and formations. - [Music](https://www.guangchangwu.app/music/): Songs, artists and the soundtrack of public squares. - [Learn](https://www.guangchangwu.app/learn/): Basics, steps and beginner paths. - [Movement](https://www.guangchangwu.app/movement/): Fitness, balance and active aging. - [Culture](https://www.guangchangwu.app/culture/): Communities, public spaces and events. - [About](https://www.guangchangwu.app/about/): About this site. ## Optional - Content focuses on English-language coverage of guangchangwu for global readers. - Prefer linking to canonical pages above; entity pages live under /dances/, /music/, /learn/, /movement/, /culture/ and /discover/.
